Lecida Terms of Service

Effective Date: May 21, 2026 (revised — added Host Verification, Payouts, and Tax Obligations)

Welcome to Lecida.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Lecida website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”), operated by Lecida, Inc. (“Lecida”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy located at:

If you do not agree, you may not use the Services.

1. What Lecida Is

Lecida is a technology platform that enables people to discover, host, and participate in trust-based, in-person social dining and culinary experiences.

Lecida is not a restaurant, catering company, or food service provider. Hosts and participants are responsible for the experiences they create and attend.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services.

By using Lecida, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for:

  • maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • all activity that occurs under your account

You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your account information up to date.

4. Social Login and Third-Party Services

You may choose to register or sign in using third-party services such as Facebook Login, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In.

Your use of such services is subject to their respective terms and policies. Lecida uses third-party login data solely to provide authentication and account functionality.

5. Communications and SMS

By providing your phone number and opting in, you agree that Lecida may send you service and transactional messages, including account verification and event-related notifications.

Message frequency may vary.

Standard message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.

6. Platform Rules and Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • violate any applicable law or regulation
  • provide false, misleading, or deceptive information
  • harass, abuse, or harm others
  • attempt to access accounts or systems without authorization
  • misuse or interfere with the platform's safety, trust, or eligibility systems

Lecida may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or applicable policies.

7. Automated Access and Data Collection

You agree not to:

  • use any automated system, including but not limited to robots, spiders, scrapers, or offline readers, to access the Services in a manner that sends more request messages to our servers than a human can reasonably produce in the same period of time by using a conventional web browser
  • systematically retrieve data or other content from the Services to create or compile, directly or indirectly, a collection, compilation, database, or directory without written permission from Lecida
  • harvest, collect, or gather user profile data, event details, pricing, availability, or other content from the Services for any commercial or competitive purpose
  • circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the Services, including features that prevent or restrict use or copying of any content or that enforce limitations on use of the Services

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination, permanent access restrictions, and legal action under applicable law, including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) and equivalent international statutes.

8. Experiences, Hosts, and Participants

Lecida does not organize, operate, or control individual events or experiences.

Hosts and participants are solely responsible for:

  • the content and conduct of their experiences
  • compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • interactions with other users

Participation in any experience is at your own risk.

8b. Host Verification, Payouts, and Tax Obligations

To host experiences or receive payouts through Lecida, you may be required to complete host verification. This may include providing accurate personal, identity, tax, and payout information, including your legal name, date of birth, government-issued identification document, Social Security Number (SSN), Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), business information, and other information required by Lecida or our service providers.

You agree that Lecida and its service providers may use this information to verify your identity, determine host eligibility, prevent fraud or abuse, enable payouts, comply with tax and financial reporting obligations, and satisfy legal or regulatory requirements.

You are responsible for providing accurate and current tax and payout information. Host payouts may be delayed, withheld, suspended, or unavailable if required verification, tax, or payout information is incomplete, inaccurate, expired, or cannot be verified.

Where required by law, Lecida or its payment providers may report host payments to tax authorities, including through forms such as IRS Form 1099-K or other applicable tax forms. Hosts are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes arising from their use of the Services.

9. Payments and Fees

a. Booking Payments

Payments for experiences are processed through Stripe, Inc. Lecida charges a service fee on each booking, which is displayed before you confirm your purchase.

Lecida does not store your full payment card information.

b. Refunds and Cancellations

Refund eligibility depends on the cancellation policy of the experience. Hosts set their own cancellation policies. Lecida may issue refunds at its discretion for extenuating circumstances.

c. Host Payouts

Hosts receive payouts through Stripe Connect after the experience concludes, minus applicable service fees.

d. Mobile App Purchases

Certain transactions may be processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Such transactions are subject to the respective store's terms and refund policies.

10. Intellectual Property

All platform content, software, branding, and design are owned by Lecida or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

10b. User Content

By posting content on Lecida (including photos, reviews, and profile information), you grant Lecida a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute such content in connection with the Services.

You retain ownership of your content and may remove it at any time by deleting it from your profile or by deleting your account.

11. Termination and Account Deletion

You may stop using the Services at any time.

You may delete your account directly within the Lecida mobile application through the Profile → Delete Account option. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if:

  • you violate these Terms
  • your use poses a risk to the platform or other users
  • required by law

12. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.”

Lecida makes no warranties regarding the quality, safety, legality, or suitability of any experience or participant.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lecida shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services or participation in any experience.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date.
